How I did it
Thirty one days and thirty one photos. It was a big job.
I did take pictures every day, but I cheated a little bit. I actually started taking pictures on June 29th giving myself a couple days buffer. I wanted to make sure I had enough time to upload photos and edit them and two days seemed reasonable.
Most days I shot about 10-15 photos and took the best of them. I took a "safe" picture of a flower or the dogs, and then took my camera with me wherever I went. Most days I got something else, but some days I just didn't get anything better than a flower in the yard. So that's what I posted.
I only took 10-15 photos because I didn't want to go through 300 every day to pick one. But some days I did, and boy was it hard picking just one. But I tried to keep the variety and not have a flower every day.
Some days I killed two birds with one stone. I would be taking photos for a shoot and picked one of the best for the "Picture of the Day". Kind of a little cheat, but kind of not.
I didn't always take the 5D Mark IV, although that is my best gear. Sometimes I wanted to take the 17-55mm lens and that only goes with the 7D Mark II. Or I wanted extra reach with the crop sensor, so the 7D Mark II came out.
There will be a couple more blog posts about the challenge in the coming days.
One of the photos that didn't make the cut.
